THEY ARE JUST PRACTICING
The eggs are due to hatch next weekend. I tried not to get too excited because the eggs were infertile the first time. I was doing good until recently. I researched another way to candle the eggs so that I could get a better view of just what is going on with these eggs. Sources say that you can check the eggs by candle method after the sixth day of being laid. I waited until a week before they are to hatch. This time I used a flash light in a dark closet. It is clear that there is no life forming in the eggs, no embryo, no baby chicks. I returned the eggs to Rebekah for now. I think that I will have Kiwi checked out for DNA sexing and close off the access to the nest box soon to give Rebekah a rest.
